Tuesday October 6th
The first session was the hosting of the Annual General Meeting Buisness session of the organization that took place from 8:45 A.M. Until 10:05 A.M. During this meeting the membership reviewed the minutes of the previosu meeting, selected scruitineers, appointed the aufitor for the coming year, reviewed and approved the President's, Executive Director's and financial reports for the past year and selected a new Board of Directors. The new Board include the following:

After the Annual Meeting Business session the membership was given a tour of the facility and with the cooperation of the weather had the opportunity to play the course. Everyone was impressed with the facility and the course and it is anticipated that the full 18 holes will be open by Julky of next year.
The meeting reconvened at 2:00 P.M. With a workshop session to review the mandate of the operation, assess the various marketing initiatives trhat have taken place during the past two year ands set a direction for 2010.
After a general discussion of the mandate of the organization it was agreed that the present mandate of developing and implementing strategies to enhance the awareness and exposure of the provincial golf product to resident and non-resident golfers was appropriate with no changes required.
The group then listed and reviewed the various initiatives undertaken in the past two years and agreed that with some minor adjustments the following should be implemnented for year three. It was also noted that some of the initiatives such as the branding, display unit and GPS Coordinates were one time initiatives that would not require additional follow-uop action.
1.Development of a three to fiver minute promotional video with sound only as well as a 30 second and 15 second ad. 2.Enhance and Implement the Flying Foursome Promotion 3.Ensure one additional Corporate Sponsor 4.Continue with the placemat and map handouts but secure sponsors with coupons for the handout map 5.Continue with such ongoing initiatives such as Trade Shows, Annual Golf Guide, Website, FAM Tour Program and annual member visitations 6.Secure funding to develop a new three year marketing strategy 7.Investigate the potential of a Car Rental company providing Golf Club Rentals and part of their services 8.Atlantic Golf Partnership Development with the other three Atlantic provinces 9.Utilizing the Bugs Green Show to promote GNL on the Marine Atlantic ferry service during the summer 10.Provincail Golf day would become a week long event with members determing the date that would host an event 11.Continuation of the Telegram Golf Report
The session ended at approximately 5:00 P.M. With members feeling it was a very positive session .
At 6:00 P.M. Gros Morne Resort hosted the annual members Dinner in the Fine dining area of the resort. The members and guests were treated to a fantastic meal in avery friendly and relaxed atmsophere. The after dinner speaker was Gloria Hammond of the NGCOA who is now located in St. John's NL. She gave a verbal presentation on the role of the NGCOA and her responsibilities. She is hoping to eventually meet all of the members. I have requested a copy of her presentation and when I receive it I will e-mail it to the membership. Following dinner a social was held in the lounge at the Resort with complimentary product provided by Labatt and finger food compliments of Gros Morne Resort.
Finally, we had scheduled a roundtable discussion on issues related to the internal marketing and operations of golf courses but due to the low numbers it was decided that this session would be cancelled and members could leave at their leisure on Wednesday morning.
In closing, I would have to express our thanks to the staff and management of Gros Morne Resort for their quality of service and the provision of amenities to host this year's event. It was exceptional fromn start to finish.
